The MAXTRAX STATIC ROPE EXTENSION is designed to be a static element during vehicle recovery operations. It can be used as an extension in towing recoveries, linked with MAXTRAX KINETIC ROPES or WINCH CABLES to increase the total length of the ropes.
Designed and tested as part of the MAXTRAX RECOVERY SYSTEM, this extension is best used with all MAXTRAX products. Please note, if the MAXTRAX RECOVERY SYSTEM is overloaded, the MAXTRAX FUSE SHACKLE is designed as the weakest point and expected breaking point. Therefore, ALWAYS use a MAXTRAX FUSE SHACKLE during every vehicle recovery operation. Ensure all personnel involved have read and understood all information on this package and the warning labels on the MAXTRAX STATIC ROPE EXTENSION before use.
SAFETY ADVICE
The minimum breaking strength of the rope should be 2 to 3 times the gross vehicle mass (GVM) of any vehicle it is used with. The rope should be suitable for the GVM of the lightest of the two vehicles involved in the recovery process.
