MaxTrax Shackle Shields are designed as a protective cover that slides over MaxTrax Core Shackles and Fuse Shackles. They provide added protection against abrasions and sharp edges at recovery points, extending the lifespan of Soft Shackles and enhancing safety.
Recovery points and bull bar recovery points often have 90-degree angles, which are not recommended for use with Soft Shackles as they may damage the fibers during recoveries.
MaxTrax Shackle Shields are compatible with all brands of Soft Shackles on the market and can be attached to Soft Shackle ropes with a diameter up to 14 mm (excluding woven protection sleeves).
With the MaxTrax Shackle Shield, it's often unnecessary to use heavy metal D-shackles in many recovery situations, offering a lighter, metal-free, and therefore safer recovery. MaxTrax Shackle Shields are made from thermoplastic polyurethane and are designed to be flexible and strong to protect the fibers of the soft shackle.
The unique 'U' shaped design of the MaxTrax Shackle Shield is developed to reduce bunching at a small radius under load, protecting the soft shackle rope fibers and potentially extending the lifespan of the Soft Shackle.
